After Kichong Tran took home the W in the recent Full Metal Dojo, FMD2: Protect Your Neck, the Phnom Penh Post caught up with the Afighter MMA star to hear what he had to say about the fight.
The bout was originally slated against Mike Siwa Kongtien, however during the pre-fight medical check up Mike was diagnosed with conjunctivitis and was unable to fight. As quickly as the fight fell apart a replacement was found; another Thai national who goes by the name, ‘Dream Man’, stepped up, even thought he weighed in under the bantamweight limit, let alone the featherweight limit the fight was set to held at.
Dream Man is known for his strong wrestling base, and these skills were certainly on display during the fight. But, Kichong weathered the storm of hip tosses and managed to take the fight to the ground where he was able to pull of a rear naked choke to end the bout.
