This is one for the books. Full Metal Dojo is placing two of its newest sponsor in the FMD cage, with Mövenpick Hotel to sponsor the red corner, while Four Points by Sheraton is siding with the blue corner.
In MMA, as in boxing, the two groups of fighters on an event’s fight card are divided into red and blue corners, representing the stations for the fighters and their teams of corner men. Not only will each hotel brand see their names appear in the red and blue corners of the MMA fight cage, but the two opposing groups of fighters will each be staying at their corner’s sponsoring hotel. The events will see two groups of guest MMA fighters representing each hotel, before facing off against each other in the MMA cage, in a spectacular brand-versus-brand deal unseen before in combat sports sponsorship.
Not only that, but the two hotels in question are already competitors, being the top two hotels on the same street in downtown Bangkok, with Mövenpick Hotel Sukhumvit 15 Bangkok facing off against Four Points by Sheraton Bangkok, Sukhumvit 15. Sukhumvit Road is one of the main streets in Bangkok, famous as a center for tourism, entertainment and glitzy shopping malls. Soi 15 is located in the Asok area of Bangkok, right in the heart of the city that never sleeps.
